A 'schmaltzy' romance: Children 12 and up can see 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in France

It may be banned in Malaysia and rated R in the U.S., but the French have a different attitude toward Fifty Shades of Grey.


They've decided children as young as 12 can sit down in front of the "hardcore corn" movie.



While overseas censors have warned potential viewers of its "graphic nudity" and "unusual behavior", France's film board decided against giving it an adult certificate.


The Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) gave the film a 12 rating, which means that only children under the age of 12 are prohibited from seeing it. Read more...
