Islamic State (ISIS) militants have reportedly captured dozens of Christians in northeastern Syria Monday and may have kidnapped several civilians in a separate attack in Iraq, according to reports.
Activists and Syrian state-run media said Wednesday that those kidnapped in the Hassakeh province of the country had been targeted in a series of early morning attacks on Monday in the countryside near Tal Tamer and that ISIS is holding the hostages in a city controlled by the group.
Though numbers remain unclear, women and children are believed to be among around 90 people taken from several villages along Syria's Khabur River, as thousands of others fled the area. Read more...
