It’s no secret that we live in a 24/7 screen-driven world dominated by the latest “must have” technology that promises to deliver enhanced performance with each upgrade. According to a national study, over 70 percent of millennials upgrade one or more of their technology devices within two years after a new version is released.1
Between computers, smartphones, laptops and tablets, Americans spend more than 400 minutes per day staring at screens.2 While a technology upgrade may in fact offer a more premium experience, staring at digital devices may cause us to blink 66% less3,4,5, resulting in less than satisfactory screen-viewing. For contact lens wearers, fewer blinks may lead to dissatisfaction with the very technology they use to enhance their vision – their contact lenses.6 While there are more than 30 million contact lens wearers in the U.S.7, research shows only 53 percent of millennials surveyed said they upgrade their contact lenses within two years after they learn a new contact lens is released.
